The New School – Spring Intern

Spring 2008 Reference Internship at an Art and Design Academic Institution. Opportunity for a library school student to gain reference experience at the Adam and Sophie Gimbel Design Library, The New School Libraries.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
*       In-person desk and virtual email reference
*       Edit/Create and maintain research guides
*       Conduct bibliographic instruction sessions from provided curriculum
*       Collection Assessment Project
*       Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
*       Must be currently enrolled in an ALA accredited MLS/MLIS program
*       Must have completed core curriculum for library degree
*       Interest in art and design librarianship
*       Demonstrated public service skills
*       Candidate must have availability Monday – Friday between the hours
of 10am and 6pm. Candidate must be available 12-15 hours per week.
This is an unpaid internship not available for course credit.
